Why?

Does eHarmony keep sending me emails about matches? I thought I quit their sorry asses a long time ago.

I have to admit I am sometimes tempted to join again only because I feel like I didn't give eHarmony a fair chance, that is I didn't use the service to its full potential. After all, I did not even go on an actual date. I don't know if that's because of my initial skepticism for eHarm or that I am just not dateable.

If I get a coupon or something I'll consider rejoining and if I do, I would like to make some significant changes to my "preferences" to limit the wife-seeking ultra-conservative cat-loving men. I wonder if that's allowed? Could I join using a fake name?

Maybe there is just no hope for someone like me in online dating (or dating in the real world for that matter). I may have become too cynical for my own good.

  1. Just because you stopped paying, doesn't mean you quit. They will keep sending you matches until you ask them not to (it's some setting).

And don't worry, we can become spinsters together. We'll get a bunch of cats that will eventually eat us. It will be awesome.

  2. i don't think getting eaten by cats would be the way i'd want to die. we can be spinsters but get snakes as pets who will eat us eventually. at least that is a more dignified way to die.

  3. I can't agree to snakes. How about alligators that we get as babies and treat like children until one day in the distant future they eat us in our sleep?

  4. I agree that if you never even went on a date then you did not give eHarm a fair chance. How can there be no hope for you in online dating when you've never even been on one? It's time to rejoin.

SD - Did you know there are actual spinster events in S.F.? I heard a friend of mine talking about one and I thought he was just calling the woman a spinster, but nooooooo...it was an actual organized spinster event!

  5. Amber- Spinster events? That's just wrong. I prefer to be eaten by my pet alligators.
