Anyways, adding to my busy schedule of work, school, cooking and getting myself fatter and blogging, I started a redecorating project. No major renovations that involve a lot of money or intense labor. Just things I could quickly do myself.
Since I've been cooking a lot lately, I figure I might as well do the deed in a better looking kitchen.
Here's the inspiration for what I want to do.
I got this from the book Etcetera: Creating Beautiful Interiors with the Things You Love, by Sibella Court. First of all, I love the design of the book and I love how she is inspired by old, rustic and everyday items.
This is the color palette I would like to use for my kitchen because the walls are brown/chocolate brown.
I also really like the colors of these chair cushions and sign I recently purchased at Anthropologie.
That's it. I'm open to any tips on redecorating... especially ones that are free or cost very little :)
I think my next step is to paint my kitchen cabinets. I hope this isn't one of those projects I start and never finish. That happens frequently.
I love the cushions! Paint is a relatively inexpensive way to get a whole new look. How fun! Let me know if you need any help!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sarah D...paint is the best cheap way to redecorate. You can paint almost anything too. If your cabinets don't have knobs get some...they are cheap too. Thanks for the book suggestion, I'm going to add it on my Amazon list!
ReplyDeleteRegarding leftovers...having them for lunch AND dinner is over kill. If you have them for lunch OR dinner you do it up to 4 times a week and it will be fine!
Thanks for the tip about the leftovers amber! Sarah.. I will let you know if I need help.. and let me know if you need help with your house! Are you having fun putting it together?
ReplyDeleteYou're so creative and the food you've posted looks good. :)
ReplyDeleteHi!!! i don't really know how to use this thing yet, so I just decided to reply here! lol. thank you for being interested in my life. your blog's great too! love what you said about Whole Foods! i so feel like that when i walk in, but i absolutely love it there. there's like 50 of them in santa cruz. and Lit! i love people who can appreciate literature! i hardly meet anyone outside of the realm of science. haha. last quarter i took detective fiction class. read a lot of Sherlock, Agatha Cristie novels, P.D. James, Deadlock, Maltese Falcon... but my major focuses more on classic literature... so a lot of what we read actually related to the Bible! and the bible itself, and Greek myth, and i've noticed that we've read a lot about cultural stuff like Africans, Jews, Spanish people.. so Don Quixote? hmm... yes, sorry about the essay response. (it's in my nature) lol. what made you want to switch majors?!
ReplyDeleteThe tablescape you had on Saturday night was beauitful darling!
