two a.m. tetris on the mind

It's past two in the morning and I am wide awake. This is a photo of this really old digital clock my dad gave me years ago he got from a hotel. My dad used to work at a hotel and when the hotel got rid of their old appliances employees could take them. My t.v. in my room is also a free hotel t.v. That thing is so old it doesn't even use a remote, but it doesn't have knobs, instead you push buttons to change the channels. I dont ever turn it on anymore because it makes me sad when I see that it is finally starting to die.

My mind is wrestless and I have no idea why. Earlier I fell asleep on the couch watching t.v., woke up not sleepy at all. So, I then facebook stalk whoever I can or want to, even facebook chat whoever would talk to me... taking whatever action I can get. Now, here I am in bed dropping colored blocks into the right place in my mind because I have played so much tetris today.

If I could tell you what it's like in my head right now, it would go something like this:

"Body is tired. Need sleep. What do i do for my thesis? Did i blow out that candle downstairs? I think I ate too much today. Ugh. I feel and look gross. When was my last mammogram again? I should do a self examination. What if i have cancer. What should i wear tomorrow? Do i really want to wear what i already picked out? I hope all my friends and family are well, safe and happy. I need a massage. Tetris."

I need a vacation.

  1. I hear the weather in San Diego is nice this week. :) Maybe if you had an iPad you'd feel better.

  2. Well lucky San Diegans. I'm fine. I just couldn't sleep that's all. Besides, it's nothing that a little Beyonce singing session in the shower won't fix. I feel really bad for people who can't sleep every night.. it is miserable. Surprisingly, I woke up my usual time, which means, I'll be crashing by noon.

  3. How frustrating to not be able to sleep! I find if I don't read until I can't keep my eyes open I will lay awake with 1,000 thoughts running through my mind. However I've never had insomnia. Hope you make it through the day!

  4. Uh, Sarah, I know a guy in the Phillipeans that would LOVE LOVE LOVE to talk with you. And try Sound Sleep by Gaia, it helps you fall asleep fast, but won't keep you alseep, so if the prob is just falling asleep, it's great.

  5. Hahah! That sounds a lot like my thoughts when I can't sleep at night! Hopefully that won't be the case tonight...
